An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a certified Part 145 Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) organization as a Mechanical Technician. This role is based at a facility specializing in innovative repair solutions for aircraft components, supported by a comprehensive range of C- ratings and a CAA BCAR approved aerospace welding workshop. The organization provides essential component repair services to a diverse clientele, including major aircraft manufacturers.

The Mechanical Technician will report directly to the Mechanical, Seat, and Cargo Bay Team Leader. The primary responsibility of this role involves the mechanical testing, repair, and overhaul of various aircraft components, aiming to enhance cost efficiency and deliver value to our clients.

This is a permanent role with a standard work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with opportunities for overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing, repairs, and overhauls of aircraft components.
  • Utilize diagnostic skills to effectively identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform mechanical fault diagnosis down to the component level.
  • Adhere to technical publications during work processes.
  • Ensure all tasks comply with Part 145 regulations.
  • Follow component manuals and diagrams accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with all company standard operating procedures.
  • Observe all health and safety protocols.
  • Meet workshop quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensure all work meets the company's quality benchmarks.
  • Complete all administrative tasks and system entries to agreed standards.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a solid background as a Mechanical Technician, preferably within the aviation or a related engineering field. A thorough understanding of technical publications and familiarity with commercial aerospace practices is essential.

A recognized engineering qualification such as BTEC, BNC, ONC, or HNC/HND is required. Proficiency in IT, particularly in Word and Excel, along with a willingness to learn industry-specific software (Aerotrac), is necessary.

The successful individual will be a collaborative team player, eager to learn, disciplined, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
