We are excited to announce a position for an Aircraft Component Repair Specialist at our esteemed Part 145 MRO facility located near Saffron Walden, Essex.

Our organization is dedicated to innovating repair solutions for aircraft components through Part 21J design, and we possess a comprehensive range of C- ratings along with a CAA BCAR certified aerospace welding workshop.

We cater to a diverse clientele of aircraft operators, including major names in the industry.

Our mission is to provide effective solutions for reliability challenges, minimizing delays, and reducing inventory and administrative costs for operators.

The Aircraft Component Repair Specialist will report to the Mechanical, Seat and Cargo Bay Team Leader, with the primary responsibility being the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, part replacement, and reassembly of aircraft seating systems.

This is a permanent role with a standard workweek from Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm, with opportunities for overtime.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspection and diagnosis of mechanical components, determining repair and parts replacement needs.
  • Perform disassembly and thorough cleaning of mechanical aircraft components.
  • Execute repairs and replace parts of mechanical aircraft components.
  • Reassemble aircraft mechanical components to meet required standards and timelines.
  • Adhere to technical publications during all work processes.
  • Ensure all tasks comply with Part 145 regulations.
  • Follow all company standard operating procedures diligently.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Meet workshop quality and cleanliness standards consistently.
  • Guarantee that all work delivered aligns with company quality benchmarks.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks and system entries meet established standards.

About You:

  • The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience as a Mechanical Technician, with a focus on trimming and upholstery in the aviation or automotive sectors.
  • A solid understanding of technical publications and knowledge of commercial aerospace practices is essential.
  • A recognized engineering qualification such as BTEC, BNC, ONC, or HNC/HND is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly with Word and Excel, along with a willingness to learn industry-specific software.
  • You should be a collaborative team member, eager to learn, disciplined, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
