Surgical Equipment Coordinator

Full-Time Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Equipment Coordinator to collaborate closely with our operating theatre personnel and broader Sterile Services Support teams. The primary objective is to guarantee that the provision of sterile supplies is consistent and seamless at all times, fostering a strong partnership with the Sterile Services Support Hub.

This position is ideal for an experienced Theatre Healthcare Assistant aiming to advance their professional journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for all inquiries regarding the distribution of sterile equipment from the Sterile Services Support Hub.
  • Ensure precise tracking of all equipment entering and exiting the healthcare facility.
  • Offer Sterile Services expertise and assistance during operational hours of the theatre.
  • Verify that all necessary equipment for upcoming surgical procedures is available and in optimal condition, coordinating the supply of any missing items as needed.
  • Manage the completion and processing of all documentation related to service delivery, including Quality Forms and Loan Kit information. Participate in theatre scheduling discussions to ensure equipment availability aligns with operational demands, advising theatre staff on potential issues.
  • Accurately maintain records of used surgical instruments and ensure timely updates to the sterile pack tracking system.
  • Provide support for the management and ordering processes of theatre supplies, including loan kits and related administrative tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient in utilizing IT systems that support service operations, such as Health Edge.
  • Strong ability to establish effective working relationships.
  • Proven experience in proactive planning and organization.
  • Background in theatre department operations.
  • Familiarity with a variety of surgical instruments and sets.
