Our projects vary significantly in scale, ranging from £5k to £15m, where we take on roles as both Principal Contractor and Principal Designer, while also supporting our esteemed Tier 1 contractor clients in subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacities.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Civil Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our organization on a permanent, full-time basis. This newly created position arises from internal developments and offers a pathway to join our Senior Leadership Team. In this role, you will oversee the Mechanical Design Engineering team and enhance our civil engineering capabilities.

This position is ideal for individuals looking to advance into a managerial role, and we encourage applications from experienced Senior Design Engineers and Lead Design Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Civil and Mechanical Engineering department.
  • Enhance our Civil design capabilities by expanding the knowledge and skills of our Mechanical Design team.
  • Oversee the Civil and Mechanical Engineering Design aspects of projects, collaborating with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with various departments throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate and support site investigations.
  • Provide technical support to the broader business.
  • Promote our core values throughout the organization.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in Civil design engineering for small to medium-sized projects.
  • Experience in the UK Water and/or Waste Water sectors or similar engineering fields.
  • Proven track record in managing, developing, and mentoring multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • Proficiency in CAD-based design systems, structural analysis, CDE systems, and planning tools.
  • Experience in design project management and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work from project specifications, statements of need, and legislation.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies.
