Role Overview
We are seeking a Civil Mechanical Engineering Manager to take on a permanent, full-time position within our organization. This newly created role arises from internal developments and will provide a pathway to join our Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will oversee the Mechanical Design Engineering team while enhancing our civil engineering capabilities.
Position Details
This role involves a commitment of 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer a flexible hybrid working model, which can be discussed during the hiring process. The position will require travel to client sites, and we prefer candidates who are within a reasonable commuting distance to our headquarters.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Civil and Mechanical Engineering department.
- Enhance our civil design capabilities by expanding the knowledge and skills of our Mechanical Design team.
- Oversee the engineering design components of projects, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration with various departments throughout the organization.
- Coordinate and support site investigations.
- Provide technical assistance to the broader business.
- Promote our core values within the team.
Candidate Requirements
Experience:
- Extensive experience in civil design engineering for small to medium-sized projects.
- Background in the UK Water and/or Waste Water sectors or similar engineering fields.
- Proven ability to manage, develop, and mentor multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Familiarity with CAD design systems, structural analysis, CDE systems, and planning tools.
- Experience in design project management and financial oversight.
- Ability to work from project specifications, statements of need, and relevant legislation.
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering.
- Membership in professional engineering bodies.
