Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde stands as one of the largest healthcare providers in the UK, employing approximately 40,000 individuals across a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical roles. Our organization is dedicated to delivering comprehensive healthcare services, including acute hospital care, primary care, community services, and mental health support to a population exceeding 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when considering our regional and national services.

As part of our commitment to employee well-being, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, without any alterations to salary. This change will also apply proportionately to part-time staff. Please be aware that certain service areas may not immediately implement the new working hours, and you may be required to work an additional 30 minutes weekly temporarily, for which you will be compensated until the service adjusts its schedules.

This position is a part-time role, requiring 19.8 hours per week, with a shift pattern from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 1 PM.

Salary: The salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time hours.

Please note that this position may close early due to a high volume of applications. We encourage interested candidates to submit their applications promptly.

An exciting opportunity has emerged to join the team within the Renal Outpatient and Acute Transplant Clinics as a Health Care Support Worker. The Renal Clinics and Renal Assessment Area are dedicated to providing care for patients with renal conditions and kidney transplants requiring hospital assessment and review. The team also administers haemodialysis for both inpatients and outpatients.

Renal Services in Glasgow operate across multiple sites, and you may occasionally be called upon to assist in staffing other areas within the renal service. You will be expected to competently perform the necessary technical, invasive, and physical aspects of care for the designated patient group, ensuring that nursing care is delivered effectively and meets acceptable standards. These responsibilities will be reported to the Senior Charge Nurse or Deputy Charge Nurse.

Inclusivity: NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is committed to promoting a culture of inclusion and encourages applications from all community sectors. We take pride in our diverse workforce.

Forces Friendly Employer: By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has pledged its commitment to being a Forces Friendly Employer, recognizing military skills, experience, and qualifications during the recruitment process.
