Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recognized as one of the largest healthcare providers in the UK, employing approximately 40,000 professionals across various clinical and non-clinical roles. Our services encompass acute hospital care, primary care, community health, and mental health support for a population exceeding 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when considering our regional and national services.

Eligibility Requirements: To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a valid NMC registration in the UK. Please note that applications from newly qualified nurses or midwives will not be accepted for this position.

Shift Details: The position involves a 24-hour rotational shift pattern.

We are seeking dedicated professionals to become part of our dynamic and innovative team within the Intensive Care Unit/High Dependency service. Given the current healthcare landscape, adaptability is essential to meet the evolving demands of the Critical Care service. Our Critical Care unit manages level 2 and 3 patients, and we encourage regular rotation among various areas to address service needs effectively. Currently, vacancies are available in the Intensive Care Unit, and we particularly welcome applicants with level 3 experience.

The Intensive Care and High Dependency Units cater to a specific patient demographic requiring complex interventions, including both invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support, cardiovascular assistance, and renal care. Our facility also offers tertiary support for specialized areas such as Burns and Plastics, Pancreatitis, and Orthopaedics.

We are looking for motivated individuals who are committed to delivering patient-centered care with a focus on service improvement. Successful candidates will participate in a 12-month Competency-Based Programme, culminating in a personalized self-development plan that includes the accredited Critical Care Course offered by Glasgow Caledonian University. Additionally, there is supported funding available for management SVQ courses, NES courses, and Master's programs at West of Scotland University.

Essential qualifications include current NMC registration, proof of continuous professional development, basic IT proficiency, strong communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for working in a Critical Care setting.

Our established Quality Initiative program emphasizes patient-centered care, and we seek candidates who possess a proactive attitude and are open to embracing change. We encourage applications from individuals demonstrating a keen interest in advancing their careers in Critical Care, particularly those with prior experience in this field.

Inclusivity Commitment: NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is dedicated to fostering a diverse workforce and encourages applications from all community sectors. We are proud to promote a culture of inclusion throughout our organization.
