Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Genetic Counsellor to join our dynamic team at St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Genetic Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing expert genetic counselling to individuals and families affected by genetic disorders.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing genetic counselling to patients with cancer, prenatal, and general genetics conditions
  • Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement genetic services
  • Participating in regular clinical supervision and professional development
  • Staying up-to-date with current knowledge and best practices in genetic counselling
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Genetic Counselling or a related field
  • Registration with the Genetic Counsellor Registration Board (GCRB) or equivalent
  • Experience in genetic counselling, preferably in a clinical genetics service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
