Senior Genetic Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Genetic Counsellor to join our dynamic and supportive team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our clinical genetics service, you will play a vital role in providing expert genetic counselling to individuals and families affected by genetic disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee a specialist area of the genetic counselling team, with a focus on rare disease and prenatal work.
- Provide clinical consultation, counselling, and referral support for patients, midwives, consultants, and other health professionals in the region.
- Develop and provide collaborative multidisciplinary services to best support our patients.
- Support our training programme for STP trainees and MSc students.
- Contribute to teaching opportunities at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Participate in research and development initiatives within the team.
- Registered with the Genetic Counsellor Registration Board (GCRAB) or equivalent.
- Valid Sign-off Mentor/Assessor training.
- Experience as a Band 8a Principal Genetic Counsellor.
- Advanced counselling skills and previous telephone counselling experience.
- Ability to identify and lead on service developments within the genetic counselling service.
