Genetic Counsellor

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Genetic Counsellor to join our dynamic team at St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Genetic Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing expert genetic counselling services to individuals and families affected by genetic disorders.
Main Responsibilities- Provide genetic counselling services to patients with cancer, prenatal, and general genetics, with the potential to include cardiac and neurogenetics.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of clinical genetics services.
- Participate in teaching and research activities, including presenting findings from audits, service development, and research projects.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, patients, and families to ensure effective communication and care.
- Master's degree in Genetic Counselling or a related field.
- Registration with the Genetic Counsellor Registration Board (GCRB), Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or equivalent.
- Experience in genetic counselling, preferably at Band 6 or 7 level, or as a Scientist Training Programme (STP) Trainee.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a clinical caseload efficiently.
