Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Genetic Counsellor to join our dynamic team at St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Genetic Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing expert advice and support to individuals and families affected by genetic disorders.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing genetic counselling to patients and their families, including risk assessment, genetic testing, and interpretation of results.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
  • Participating in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of genetic counselling.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Genetic Counselling or a related field.
  • Registration with the Genetic Counsellor Registration Board (GCRB) or equivalent.
  • Experience in genetic counselling, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
