About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Volunteer Coordinator to join our team at The Myton Hospices. As a key member of our community services team, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing a new community-based support service for individuals living with or caring for someone with a life-limiting illness in their own home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Associate Director of Service Development and Improvement to design, develop, and implement the new community-based support service.
  • Recruit, induct, and support a team of community support volunteers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and tools to provide effective support in a community setting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to promote the service and recruit volunteers.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to volunteers, ensuring they are effectively managed and supported.
  • Monitor and evaluate the service, gathering feedback from volunteers and service users to inform improvements.
Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage own workload and priorities, and work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good IT skills, with competency around using Microsoft packages and familiar with the use of databases.
  • High degree of motivation, commitment, and the ability to use own initiative.
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations and provide a friendly, objective service.
  • Confident representing The Myton Hospices at external events.
  • Enthusiastic and professional attitude.
  • A passion for volunteering, with up-to-date knowledge of best practice and initiatives related to volunteering.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of the recruitment, induction, and ongoing support of volunteers.
  • Working knowledge of volunteering best practice.
  • Experience of training design, coordination, and delivery.
  • Experience of developing, managing, and evaluating volunteer-led services or projects.
  • Experience of working or volunteering within a health or social care environment.
Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will be based at either our Coventry or Warwick Hospice, with the opportunity to work from home on occasion. They will be required to travel across Coventry and Warwickshire, including to community locations.
