Position Overview

Hydraulic Engineer

Location: Flexible

Compensation: Competitive

Project Partners is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Engineer or Civil Engineer with a keen interest in transitioning to Flood Modelling, possessing relevant expertise in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficient use of hydraulic modelling software such as Flow/Micro Drainage, Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, or equivalent 1D-2D tools.
  • Experience with hydrological analysis software, particularly WINFAP4 and ReFH2.
  • Familiarity with GIS applications, specifically QGIS.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Autodesk Civil 3D is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), and preliminary civil engineering design.
  • Competence in detailed drainage design and S104 agreements is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.

Required Skills:

  • Understanding of commercial frameworks and the ability to assist in fee proposal development.
  • Capability to manage projects and teams effectively within set timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective management abilities.
  • Adherence to the Quality Assurance system and other relevant policy documents.

Professional Development:

The ideal candidate will be approaching or have achieved chartered status with a recognized professional body relevant to their qualifications (e.g., CIWEM or ICE).
