About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bid Manager to join our team at Galliford Try. As a key member of our pre-construction team, you will be responsible for leading the creation of innovative and effective responses to pre-qualification and tender document submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, analyze, and disseminate tender documents, including handling clarifications and amendments.
  • Prepare bid programs and deliverables schedules to monitor progress.
  • Ensure that the bid team adheres to defined governance and bid management processes and adequately hands over successful bids to delivery teams.
  • Contribute and lead the wider bid team at key stages of individual tender opportunities, gathering technical information from internal departments to compile and ensure a high-quality bespoke solution is offered to the client.
  • Identify winning bid themes, strategies, and actions.
  • Implement our Delivering Excellence culture change program through the bid process.
  • Lead tender launch and finalization meetings, including content-specific workshops and regular progress meetings.
  • Support the development and undertaking of the writing of high-quality winning quality deliverables, including coordinating, proof-reading, and editing written content produced by others.
  • Take a lead role in the management of the submission process, ensuring that all deliverables are being produced and successfully issued in line with the PQQ/Tender requirements.
  • Liaise and collaborate with subject matter experts to assist the development of focused and bespoke responses.
  • Build and develop effective relationships throughout the business and with partners outside of the supply chain and design team partners.
  • Oversee and contribute to the production of promotional/marketing materials and award submissions.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff.

  • Flexibility to meet the challenges of fluctuating workloads and multiple assignments with tight deadlines that may require non-standard work hours from time to time.
  • IT literacy, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and InDesign.

You will possess strong organizational and project management skills, an eye for detail, and meticulous proof-reading and communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience of working in a proposals/work-winning environment is essential.

You will have the ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. A team player with a 'can-do' attitude and ability to think 'outside the box.' You will also be an ambitious individual who wishes to grow their career in parallel with the continued growth of our business.
