Strategic Bid Director

The Strategic Bid Director plays a critical role in the success of AECOM's major pursuits, working closely with senior business leaders, technical teams, and capture managers to deliver winning bids.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute bid win strategies, driving results through all stages of the bid process.
- Lead teams in the creation of bid proposals, ensuring alignment with AECOM's business objectives and client needs.
- Collaborate with capture managers to gather client and scope intelligence, identifying key decision-makers and their requirements.
- Directly lead and support the creation and execution of win strategies, using the Four Rules method to establish a clear understanding of the client's needs and AECOM's value proposition.
- Work with technical teams to develop winning solutions, including partnering and bringing in key expertise or specialists from across the business.
- Engage with marketing teams to position AECOM as a thought leader in the industry, aligning with client key decision-makers and opportunities.
- Lead the delivery of bids, working closely with capture managers, bid coordinators, and support services to ensure successful outcomes.
- Prepare for Gate reviews, Go/Get, Exec Boards, and Risk Committees, ensuring a holistic approach to bidding.
- Proven experience in working on major pursuits, with a strong track record of delivering winning bids in a multi-geography, multi-market, multi-discipline enterprise.
- Experience in managing commercial/pricing and quality/technical workstreams on major bids, with a high level of depth and breadth of experience in delivering major strategically important winning bids of circa $100m.
- Strong understanding of AECOM's business and industry, with a deep knowledge of Programme Management, Defence, National Security, Energy Transition, Aviation, and Water.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Consistently raises and exceeds expectations, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to delivering results.
