About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Bid Modeller / Commercial Manager to join our UK Transport Business as a key member of our commercial team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, your primary focus will be to develop and implement winning commercial strategies for design and build projects and design frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of bid teams to develop and lead on the development of winning commercial strategies for design and build projects and design frameworks in liaison with the Bid Director and Bid Manager;
  • Implement these winning strategies into financial models taking account of project risks and company commercial expectations;
  • Present commercial strategies through the organisation's governance process, helping gain approval from senior stakeholders;
  • Manage financial risk and opportunity across the business through both the bidding and project delivery phase;
  • Work with project managers and directors during the project delivery phase to manage commercial risk and opportunities at a project level;
  • Work with our internal business finance team to ensure that project-related risk is appropriately managed within our project financial systems;
  • Advise teams on commercial contractual issues as and when the need arises.
About You

We are looking for an experienced bid modeller / commercial manager with a strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract, particularly being comfortable working with contracts that include the NEC Schedule of Cost Components. You will have experience supporting the successful delivery of civil engineering projects either as a project manager or in a previous commercial role.
