About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bid Modeller / Commercial Manager to join our UK Transport Business. As a key member of our bid teams, you will be responsible for developing winning commercial strategies for design and build projects and design frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement winning commercial strategies for bid teams, taking into account project risks and company commercial expectations;
  • Present commercial strategies through the organization's governance process, ensuring approval from senior stakeholders;
  • Manage financial risk and opportunity across the business through both the bidding and project delivery phase;
  • Advise teams on commercial contractual issues, ensuring compliance with NEC forms of contract;
  • Ensure project-related risk is appropriately managed within project financial systems;
  • Support the successful delivery of civil engineering projects, either as a project manager or in a commercial role.
Requirements
  • Strong experience of bidding civil engineering consultancy frameworks in the transport sector;
  • Experience of bidding for engineering design services on design and build projects as the contractor's designer;
  • A strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract, particularly comfortable working with contracts that include the NEC Schedule of Cost Components;
  • Experience of working in a finance-related role (preferred but not essential);
  • Experience supporting the successful delivery of civil engineering projects.
