Bid Support Design Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Bid Support Design Manager to join our Design and Bid Team at Bell Building Projects Ltd. The position will be a full-time, permanent contract and based primarily within our office, providing design support to our preconstruction and bid teams on cladding remediation and refurbishment projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design specifications of bid documentation, ensuring alignment with external designers and industry partners. Key duties include:

  • Reviewing tender documents, creating project fact sheets, and developing wall type specifications for accurate pricing.
  • Collaborating with bid support and preconstruction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Producing resource scope projections, intrusive survey plans, and responding to bid queries related to quality control and building regulations.
  • Maintaining awareness of legislation and updating quality assurance documentation.
  • Coordinating with the ISO 9001 consultant and utilizing Procore for project management.

Requirements and skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years' construction industry experience, ideally in architecture with a focus on structures and cladding.
  • Strong technical knowledge, proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and familiarity with document management systems.
  • Degree in a construction-related discipline.
  • Effective under pressure, with excellent communication, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Persistent, task-driven, and professional, with strong collaboration, persuasive skills, and commercial acumen.
  • Thorough understanding of Scottish and English building regulations.
  • UK driving license, with access to a business-insured vehicle preferred.
