Position Overview

Join our vibrant Speech and Language Therapy team at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHSFT, where we are dedicated to enhancing the communication abilities of children and young individuals. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapist with specialized expertise in pediatric dysphagia.

Role Responsibilities

In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive clinical services to children facing various communication challenges. Your primary focus will be on:

  • Delivering high-quality assessments and interventions for children with eating and drinking difficulties.
  • Working across diverse environments, including educational institutions, clinics, and home settings.
  • Providing support within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and at the Royal Derby Hospital.

Key Duties

As a valued member of our team, you will:

  • Utilize your postgraduate experience to address the needs of children under and over 12 months.
  • Exhibit proficiency in evidence-based practices and contribute to the leadership within our Speech and Language Therapy service.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and clinical supervision opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this position, you should possess:

  • HCPC registration.
  • Postgraduate training in pediatric dysphagia.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Experience in supervising junior staff and delivering training.
