We are pleased to present a rewarding opportunity for a dual-focused role in dysphagia management, catering to both adult and pediatric populations within our Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team at Derbyshire Community Health Services NHSFT.
This distinctive position encompasses a wide range of clinical settings, including neonatal intensive care, pediatric hospitals, adult medicine, and critical care for adults. The role is designed for professional growth, with training opportunities available in video fluoroscopy and tracheostomy management. Speech and Language Therapists with more experience in either adult or pediatric care will have the chance to enhance their skills in the less familiar clinical area.
This position is crucial to both adult and pediatric teams, offering pathways for skill enhancement and leadership development across both domains.

We seek a Speech and Language Therapist who is registered with HCPC and RCSLT.
As a clinical team member, you will be expected to embody the values and behaviors outlined in the DCHS Way.

You will demonstrate proficiency in delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic practices, including comprehensive assessments and interventions for dysphagia within this specialized field.

About Our Organization
Our mission is to deliver community health services to a diverse patient population exceeding one million individuals in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ approximately 4,200 dedicated staff members, providing care across 11 community hospitals and over 30 health centers, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes, and increasingly, in patients' homes and through virtual consultations.
During the pandemic, we played a pivotal role in establishing public vaccination centers in collaboration with various health and social care partners.
Job Duties

Provide clinical services to adults experiencing communication, eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties across various settings, including stroke units, general acute care, and rehabilitation.
Additionally, you will be expected to have a specialized interest that is agreed upon with your line manager.
This role will specifically involve working with neuro outpatients for three days a week and acute inpatients for two days a week.

- Recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
- Registered member of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
- Relevant post-registration experience, particularly in dysphagia
