Position Overview

Join our vibrant Speech and Language Therapy team, consisting of approximately 100 professionals dedicated to enhancing communication and swallowing abilities across Derbyshire.

This role presents an exciting opportunity within our pediatric division, seeking a skilled and passionate speech and language therapist specializing in pediatric dysphagia. The successful candidate will collaborate with both the City and County teams, as well as in critical care settings such as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Royal Derby Hospital.

The position includes managing a community caseload in Derby, delivering therapeutic services to children and adolescents facing diverse communication challenges in various environments, including educational institutions, childcare facilities, clinics, and home settings.

Key Responsibilities

Our therapists are committed to supporting children with a broad spectrum of speech, language, communication, and feeding difficulties. This role specifically focuses on pediatric dysphagia, requiring experience with infants and toddlers facing eating and drinking challenges.

Applicants must be HCPC registered and possess the ability to travel between multiple locations.

Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic practices and will have a proven track record of providing leadership and mentorship within a Speech and Language Therapy framework.

As part of a supportive team of Speech and Language Therapists, Speech and Language Practitioners, and Therapy Assistants, you will receive guidance from an SLT team leader and have access to clinical supervision and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • HCPC registration
  • Postgraduate training in pediatric dysphagia

Desirable:

  • Membership in relevant Clinical Excellence Networks (CEN)
  • Experience in NICU settings
