Position Overview

We are pleased to announce an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned nutrition professional to take on the role of Lead Nutrition Services Specialist at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.

As a proactive and skilled individual with a background in service enhancement, you will spearhead the dietetic department's efforts to align with the National Standards for Healthcare Food and Drink.

Your role will involve collaboration with a diverse multidisciplinary team, serving as the primary resource for patient-related inquiries regarding menus, allergens, nutritional integrity, and meal provision. You will also provide guidance on meal services for staff and visitors.

The ideal candidate will operate both within the facilities and the dietetic department, focusing on promoting service advancements through audits, research, and evaluations of existing processes and pathways. Close collaboration with our catering service providers and their lead dietitians will be essential.

You will oversee the management of the Food and Beverage Strategy and serve as a knowledgeable resource for all inquiries related to meal and menu services.

A significant aspect of your responsibilities will include leading menu evaluations, nutritional assessments, allergen identification, and menu coding. You will maintain clear communication with inpatient dietitians to ensure that specialized menus are available as needed, including texture-modified, allergen-specific, and therapeutic diets.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for developing and conducting audits and satisfaction surveys, which will serve as key instruments for driving improvements within the organization.
