Role Overview

If you aspire to expand your industry knowledge and advance your career in cost management, our North East team is on the lookout for seasoned Cost Managers eager to elevate their careers to a senior level. You will be involved in a variety of leading infrastructure projects, with support in identifying the right opportunities within transportation, utilities, and highways.

As a Senior Cost Manager, you will engage in exciting projects while enhancing your operational and technical skills. We are enthusiastic about supporting individuals who are eager to progress in their careers, offering excellent training and opportunities for qualification advancement and portfolio diversification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building friendly, professional, and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders involved in the projects and programs we support.
  • Managing a variety of contracts in alignment with project goals and policies.
  • Delivering precise project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to ensure completion within budget.
  • Actively monitoring and managing cost variances and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate applications.
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to oversee the delivery of project outputs, KPIs, and objectives, including program performance, cost control, and value engineering.
  • Effectively managing contract changes to ensure projects adhere to governance and best practices.
  • Driving enhancements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
  • Providing sound commercial insights and support to all stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
  • Leading teams and commissions as required.

Required Qualifications:

Previous experience or a solid understanding of the following will be advantageous for this role:

  • Procurement experience
  • Estimating abilities

  • Commission management experience
  • Identifying and implementing efficiencies and improvements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including various procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
  • Ideally Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant field
  • Ideally hold or be pursuing membership in a relevant professional body or equivalent.
