Senior Finance Manager – Capital and Business Case Assurance

Position Overview:

We are in search of a committed and skilled Senior Finance Manager to become a part of our capital finance team. In this essential role, you will provide a comprehensive business case assurance service, assisting managers and staff throughout the Southwest Region. This position offers the chance to cultivate a blend of subject matter expertise and technical proficiency in business cases, contributing to a robust service delivery. Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the business case process throughout its lifecycle, from submission to national approval.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial reports, analyses, and recommendations for business cases requiring national endorsement.
  • Identify and propose enhancements for processes, procedures, and systems within the regional business case function to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist NHS organizations in developing business cases in accordance with DHSC and HMT guidelines, including the green book/five case model and other relevant guidance.
  • Support the execution of project plans, identifying risks and issues to facilitate proactive resolutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Possession of a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA) or actively pursuing one.
  • Experience in capital accounting and auditing is advantageous.
  • Extensive background in financial management, ideally within the NHS or healthcare sector.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Business Intelligence systems is a plus.
  • A solid grasp of NHS financial procedures and governance frameworks.
