Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom NHS Counter Fraud Authority Full time

The NHS Counter Fraud Authority (NHSCFA) serves as the principal organization dedicated to the prevention, detection, and investigation of economic crime within the NHS.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist, you will possess extensive expertise in investigative methodologies, legal frameworks, and best practices. Your role will involve establishing and upholding quality standards and guidance, including Standard Operating Procedures, across the NHSCFA and the National Investigation Service.

In collaboration with the Head of Operations and the National Operations Manager, you will implement and manage a quality assurance framework that identifies potential risks and provides assurance to senior management regarding serious and complex fraud investigations conducted by the National Investigation Service.

The successful candidate will be expected to continuously enhance their knowledge and skills related to investigative legislation, practices, and procedures. You will also provide guidance and support to various business areas to ensure compliance with both internal and external quality standards in investigation and enforcement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the designated Quality Officer for the National Investigation Service, overseeing investigative quality management standards and fulfilling the specific responsibilities associated with this role. This includes managing the quality management system and documentation, monitoring the effectiveness of quality control measures through internal audits and management reviews, and compiling data, including customer feedback.
  • Take charge of designing, developing, planning, delivering, and reviewing audit schedules to meet quality assurance standards, ensuring comprehensive coverage through diverse audit types.

The role requires a National Police Vetting Level 2 (NPPV2) clearance.

The NHSCFA is committed to fostering a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, regardless of age, disability, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or other personal circumstances.

We have established policies and procedures to ensure fair and consistent treatment of all applicants throughout the recruitment process, including reasonable adjustments for candidates with disabilities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead the review of investigative processes within the National Investigation Service, providing support in the creation of clear and accessible written guidance, procedures, strategies, protocols, and agreements necessary for achieving quality management standards.
  • Manage the repository of NHSCFA investigative Standard Operating Procedures and quality assurance processes, detailing roles, responsibilities, review dates, and requirements.
  • Develop and implement a strategic approach to the application and maintenance of quality standards for NHSCFA investigative activities.
  • Promote awareness of investigative standards and quality management processes across the NHSCFA.

Collaborate with all business units to ensure effective identification and management of risks and issues related to the development and implementation of quality standards for investigations.
