About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Litigated Fraud File Handler to join our team at Keoghs. As a key member of our counter-fraud division, you will play a crucial role in helping us to defeat dishonest motor claims and develop strategies to identify and prevent new and emerging risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run a caseload of litigated RTA suspected fraud files on behalf of a cross-section of insurance clients, working closely with sophisticated claims handlers and legal support staff.
  • Work in close conjunction with the relevant Lead Lawyer to achieve the best possible results in a commercially sound manner.
  • Make decisions within a set timeframe in accordance with the case strategy and within the best interests of the client.
  • Work with strategic foresight to ensure all litigation and opportunities are taken to shape the future of the counter-fraud arena.
Key Accountabilities
  • Run fraud cases from the point of litigation through to the resolution of the case.
  • Set and agree the case strategy on files with clients, ensuring adherence to any KYO or generic strategies that may be put in place by Lead Lawyer and Technical Leads.
  • Adhere to all work type process stages.
  • Identify strategic litigation opportunities and complex cases when appropriate.
  • Identify client trends and any opportunities to raise profile with clients.
Requirements
  • Experience in civil litigation claims handling or as a legal File Handler or suitably qualified.
  • Experience in one of the following: handling RTA pre-litigated and/or litigated case load, insurance litigation practice and processes, or indemnity principles.
  • Knowledge of the litigation process and working knowledge of the CPR.
  • Good advocacy skills, client care skills, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, keep to deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and identify solutions.
  • Experience of time recording and billing systems.
  • Excellent IT skills.
