We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our Property and Maintenance Team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Work Schedule: 39 hours per week

Work Hours: Monday to Friday (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with an early finish on Fridays)

Compensation: £12.00 per hour or £24,336.00 annually

Location: Primarily based in Aberdeen City, with responsibilities across various properties in the southern region.

Additional Information: Candidates must possess a valid UK Driver's License, as the role requires travel to multiple sites throughout the day. Access to personal transport is preferred, but we will consider applicants without their own transport who hold a valid UK driver's license. Role Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will deliver routine and proactive maintenance services across all VSA establishments and their surrounding grounds, performing domestic repairs and maintenance tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify potential maintenance concerns and address them effectively.
  • Establish, agree upon, and implement a routine for daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in collaboration with the Head of Business, Property Inspector, and Asset & Facilities Manager.
  • Recognize maintenance issues beyond personal expertise and refer them to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Business to identify and address any emerging maintenance issues.
  • Utilize initiative to determine the most cost-effective and suitable solutions for maintenance challenges, reporting findings to the Clerk of Works.
  • Perform routine domestic maintenance and repair tasks, demonstrating a wide range of DIY skills.
  • Maintain site grounds, including footpaths, gutters, and blocked drains, and assist with garden upkeep.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards during all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Carry out any additional duties as required, provided they align with the capabilities of the role.
  • Offer a call-out service for emergency repairs when available.
