Role Overview

An exceptional opportunity exists within our Specialist Palliative and End-of-Life Care Team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust.

Responsible for managing a dedicated Palliative Care and End-of-Life patient caseload. Engage in a comprehensive range of responsibilities aligned with the role of a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with various groups, communities, and organizations. Facilitate the design and implementation of care programs tailored to patient needs, while striving to enhance service delivery.

About the Position

This role involves delivering high-quality specialist palliative nursing care, advanced symptom management, and support to patients, families, and caregivers. You will collaborate closely with other Clinical Nurse Specialists and medical teams, providing expert guidance and assistance for patients requiring Palliative and End-of-Life care.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care, you will work in conjunction with the Palliative Care Consultant and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure the highest standards of nursing care for patients with complex palliative care needs.

The ideal candidate will possess compassion, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to integrity and diversity, alongside proficient IT skills. A flexible and adaptable approach to work is essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Leadership, innovation, motivation, and excellent communication skills are crucial for success in this role.

You will primarily be based at North Devon District Hospital, with potential travel required to meet patient needs and deliver educational sessions.
