We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Breast Team at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality specialist nursing care to patients with breast disease throughout their patient pathway and disease trajectory.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance to the Breast Care Nursing team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients with breast disease.
- Work autonomously, using expert clinical judgment and knowledge to provide informational and psychological care to patients and their families in conjunction with the multidisciplinary teams in acute care, primary care, and tertiary care providers.
- Assist with all aspects of breast care provision in association with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), including the development and implementation of evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Act as a nursing resource and provide clinical leadership and expertise as a Specialist Nurse concerning breast cancer and function at an expert level.
- Take responsibility for own evidence-based practice and ensure awareness of current research to support and underpin specialist advice.
- Develop all staff within the multidisciplinary team, providing support, advice, and formal and informal education.
- Perform clinical duties confidently and competently, consolidating and further developing clinical skills.
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, such as breast care or oncology.
- Proven experience in a clinical nurse specialist role, with a focus on breast care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work autonomously and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of breast care and oncology, with a focus on evidence-based practice.
