Position Overview

This role encompasses a comprehensive scope across various healthcare environments, integrating both hospital and community care.

The individual in this position will operate independently as a highly skilled advanced practice physiotherapist, collaborating closely with the Specialist PPHS Midwifery team to oversee the clinical provision of care within the Perinatal Pelvic Health Service.

Responsibilities include delivering expert guidance to women and birthing individuals in need of pelvic health services.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to provide therapeutic interventions to women and birthing individuals in your area of expertise. Engage with other professionals and organizations as necessary to ensure effective clinical care planning and execution.

- Educate women, birthing individuals, their families, and the broader multi-disciplinary team about the importance of pelvic health, ensuring access to relevant information and support.

- Employ negotiation and persuasion techniques to enhance service delivery within the specialized team.

Job Responsibilities

- Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide therapeutic support to women and birthing individuals in your specialized field. Coordinate with other professionals and organizations as needed for effective clinical care.

- Provide education to women, birthing individuals, their families, and the wider multi-disciplinary team regarding pelvic health and its importance, ensuring that information and support are readily available.

- Utilize motivational and negotiation skills in the treatment of women and birthing individuals, particularly in overcoming communication barriers, cognitive challenges, and behavioral issues.

- Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to women, birthing individuals, caregivers, and the multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Registration with HCPC
  • Commitment to working at a master's level with attendance at accredited courses for personal and professional development

Desirable Qualifications

  • Specialized training in pelvic health

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential Skills

  • Postgraduate experience within the NHS with significant expertise in the specialty area
  • Experience as a Senior Physiotherapist in the specialty area
  • Experience in supervising and supporting staff

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in teaching students, staff, and other professional groups
