About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our team at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. As an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist, you will play a key role in the development and provision of clinical pharmacy services to our Virtual Ward Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective clinical pharmacy services to support the Virtual Ward team in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Provide expert pharmaceutical support and advice to the Virtual Ward team, ensuring that patients receive the medicines they need in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Lead on the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure that medicines are used safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify and address medicines-related issues and improve patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust's medicines optimisation and clinical strategy.
  • Provide education and training to healthcare staff on medicines use and management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new services and projects.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Post-registration clinical pharmacy diploma or MSc or equivalent qualification.
  • Independent prescriber with annotation on GPhC register or willingness to undertake where necessary.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing professional development portfolio.
Desirable
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) and/or Faculty status.
  • Formal management and/or leadership qualification.
  • Teaching/training qualification.
  • MSc Clinical Pharmacy.
