Job Overview

The Medical Therapies team at University Hospital of North Midlands is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Therapist to fill a senior leadership role within the Therapies Urgent Care Team.

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing specialist physiotherapy services to patients across a range of areas, including A&E, Clinical Decision Unit, Acute Medical Unit, Resus, Short Stay Ward, Frail Elderly Assessment Unit, and ambulatory care.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience working in the NHS, with a strong background in physiotherapy and leadership. They will be responsible for providing specialist training to therapy staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team, as well as contributing to the development of the team's clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist physiotherapy services to patients across a range of areas, including A&E, Clinical Decision Unit, Acute Medical Unit, Resus, Short Stay Ward, Frail Elderly Assessment Unit, and ambulatory care.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to improve patient outcomes and streamline clinical practice.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to therapy staff, including training and development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of the team's clinical practice, including the development of new services and programs.
  • Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Registered with HCPC
  • Portfolio of personal and professional development
  • Post holder committed to working at master's level, e.g. attended courses accredited at master's/postgraduate level
  • Working towards a higher qualification relevant to speciality, e.g. Master's degree
  • Experience of working as a senior physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist within the speciality area
  • Experience of teaching students, staff, and other professional groups
  • Postgraduate (NHS) experience with considerable experience in speciality area
  • Experience of undertaking out-of-hours working
  • Experience gained within an acute setting
