Join us in a dynamic leadership position where you will oversee teams of Intelligence Analysts engaged in various compliance and enforcement initiatives, from operational interventions to policy formulation.

The Intelligence Assessment team (IA) at HMRC is in search of skilled individuals to step into the role of Team Leader.

This team is responsible for evaluating threats to HMRC and its domestic and international partners, addressing a wide array of issues at operational, tactical, and strategic levels.

The role is both challenging and diverse, involving tasks that range from supporting current and future policy development across government to combating serious organized crime.

Role Responsibilities

As a senior leader within the Intelligence Assessment (IA) division, you will:

  • Be a prominent leader who consistently steers the team in alignment with broader strategic goals, uniting geographically dispersed teams to deliver high-quality intelligence analysis and assessments.
  • Foster a national performance culture, embedding professional standards at the core of our operations, ensuring we provide a service that meets customer needs and instills pride in our teams.
  • Collaborate with partners across HMRC and the wider government/civil service, actively promoting the work of IA to enhance customer understanding of our offerings.
  • Recognize the significance of intelligence and information in making assessments, ensuring these evaluations are conducted to the highest analytical standards.
  • Support the continuous professional development of specialized teams, ensuring our personnel remain highly skilled and valued for their contributions.

Security Clearance

This position requires National Security Vetting at Security Check (SC) clearance level. Depending on the assigned role, you may also need to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. Candidates must either hold SC clearance or be willing to apply for it. Any job offer will be conditional upon successful vetting.

Professional Development

Applicants must have completed or be willing to complete one of the core professional intelligence analyst training programs recognized by the Professional Head of Intelligence Analysis (PHIA) or the College of Policing.
