Job Title: Sales Order Management Systems Leader (12 month fixed contract)

Reports to: Head of Global Supply Chain

Location: Global

Purpose of the Role:
As a pivotal member of our team, you will spearhead initiatives across our manufacturing sites to harmonize every phase of the sales order process. Your focus will be on ensuring the precision and reliability of our sales orders, facilitating a seamless transition to the supply chain team to meet customer demands. Your efforts will enhance customer service, improve on-time delivery, and stabilize lead times. You will also drive local operational excellence and cultivate team capabilities while being a key contributor to the Global Supply Chain Function in the development of innovative global tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:
  • Lead the order processing teams within manufacturing facilities.
  • Establish the organizational structure, define roles and responsibilities, and develop a competency framework and associated materials.
  • Support the development of plant-level competencies.
  • Collaborate with local order processing managers to create and globally implement materials within the Rotork Supply Chain playbook.
  • Define standardized processes and governance for order processing, product configuration, acknowledgment of factory delivery promises, and management of sales order changes.
  • Oversee the definition and quality of order processing metrics reported to the Group.
  • Work with Group Lean to integrate the sales order cycle into the Rotork Management Operation System, focusing on visual management, metrics, reporting, and actioning in line with factory processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement sales order cycle process improvement tools, including:
    • Sales order configuration and change management.
    • Management and review of the sales order book.
    • On-time delivery improvements considering customer requested dates and factory promise dates.
    • Optimization of customer lead times and consistent communication from quote to delivery.
    • Enhancements to ERP systems (D365).
    • Management of customer inquiries, escalations, and resolutions.
    • Oversight of product life-cycle management.
  • Engage in the implementation of a standardized ERP system (D365) while facilitating process improvements on legacy systems.
  • Assist data stewards, business process owners, and key stakeholders in maintaining the integrity of system data for customer accounts, finished goods part data, MRP inputs, incoterms, and commodity codes, ensuring processes include audit and evaluation points.
  • Assess specific customer and factory requirements, such as factory acceptance testing and special packaging, and ensure these are captured in the ERP system (D365).
  • Participate in projects aimed at achieving and enhancing customer excellence, including CRM initiatives, lead time reduction, 4PL, and distribution models.

Qualifications and Technical Expertise:
Essential:
  • Degree-level education or equivalent workplace experience/qualification.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles within a manufacturing context.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing supply chain/customer service and lean methodologies.
  • Proven ability to effectively train others; trainer skills certification is preferred.
  • Robust data analysis and capture skills; ERP subject matter expertise is essential.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proven presentation capabilities using tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to engage cross-functional teams towards achieving desired outcomes; previous experience in successfully coordinating complex projects is required.
