About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Support Worker Higher Level to join our team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our theatre department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and care for patients undergoing surgery, working within the Head & Neck and Plastics portfolio.
  • Set up and prepare theatre for elective procedures, checking equipment and ensuring a safe environment for patients.
  • Circulate theatre alongside a theatre practitioner, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Gain a good understanding of surgical procedures and the Head & Neck and Plastic specialty as a whole.
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and active listening skills.
  • Timekeeping, planning and prioritisation skills.
  • Basic IT skills to use electronic patient records and other Trust systems.
  • Experience/knowledge of theatre environment.
  • Numeracy and Literacy Level 2.
  • Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience in a range of patient and clinical care duties.
  • Care certificate.
