Role Overview: Product Marketing Manager - IoT at Canonical

Canonical is in search of a Product Marketing Manager specializing in IoT, tasked with crafting marketing strategies and global go-to-market initiatives for Canonical's IoT offerings. This dynamic and hands-on role demands close collaboration with Product and Engineering teams, the content team, Sales Teams, and various Marketing functions.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong enthusiasm for technology and its application in marketing. They thrive in environments that promote ownership of campaigns, teamwork, continuous learning, curiosity, and a commitment to personal and organizational improvement. A passion for problem-solving, experimentation, measurement, and automation to enhance efficiency is essential.

This position is part of the marketing team and reports directly to the product marketing lead.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee go-to-market strategy and execution for Canonical's IoT product line. Lead the planning and execution of content dissemination, campaign development, and product launch strategies. Develop compelling messaging and positioning that highlights business value and resonates with target audiences throughout their purchasing journey. Design and implement marketing programs aimed at upselling and cross-selling to our extensive customer base. Collaborate with demand generation teams, leveraging data and insights to refine strategies that drive traffic to our content and optimize marketing funnels. Coordinate with other teams to plan events, webinars, and support for paid and social media promotions. Create and distribute content (both online and print) aligned with marketing plans to achieve campaign objectives. Analyze the competitive landscape to establish product positioning that sets us apart.

Desired Qualifications:

Strong interest in IoT and familiarity with the embedded technology sector. Strategic thinker capable of addressing complex challenges with thoughtful recommendations and actionable plans. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a talent for building trusting relationships across diverse, cross-functional teams. Knowledgeable in go-to-market strategies and methodologies. Proficient in leading presentations and discussions with industry analysts, business stakeholders, technical teams, and sales personnel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong background in content marketing. Proven ability to prioritize effectively, distinguishing critical tasks from less important ones, while meeting deadlines without compromising quality. Growth-oriented mindset, willing to think innovatively and embrace risks.
