Business and Financial Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Business and Financial Operations Manager to join our team at The Eggtooth Project.
About The Eggtooth Project
The Eggtooth Project is a leading creative mental health organisation in Hastings and surrounding areas. We have supported thousands of children, young people and families, offering a unique approach to wellbeing and learning. Our services are in high demand, and we are looking for a talented individual to help us manage our finances effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management
- Develop and implement financial management systems and processes to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
- Prepare and manage budgets, financial reports, and forecasts to inform business decisions.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Financial Planning and Analysis
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions and drive growth.
- Financial Operations
- Manage financial systems, processes, and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee financial reporting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Develop and maintain relationships with financial stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and partners.
- Leadership and Collaboration
- Work closely with the Co-Director to develop and implement business strategies and plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve financial performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably in a not-for-profit or charity sector.
- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience in managing multiple income streams and financial systems.
- Demonstrated experience in managing financial processes and controls.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications
- Part or fully qualified accountant or bookkeeper, preferably with ACA, ACCA, AAT, or QBE certification.
- Experience and knowledge of the voluntary, third sector, or charity sector and its financial culture.
- Experience of supporting an organisation during a period of growth and transition.
