About The Eggtooth Project

The Eggtooth Project is a leading creative mental health organisation in Hastings and surrounding areas, established in 2011. We have supported thousands of children, young people and families, offering a unique approach to wellbeing and learning. Our services are in high demand, and we are seeking a skilled Business and Finance Director to join our dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management
    • Develop and implement financial management strategies to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
    • Prepare and manage budgets, financial reports, and forecasts to inform business decisions.
    • Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis
    • Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support business planning and decision-making.
    • Provide financial analysis and insights to inform business strategy and drive growth.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Lead and manage the finance function, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, donors, and partners.
    • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their roles effectively.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in financial management, planning, and analysis, preferably in a not-for-profit or charity sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in using accounting software, MS Office, and other financial tools.
  • Experience in managing multiple income streams and financial systems.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Part or fully qualified accountant/bookkeeper within ACA/ACCA, AAT, or QBE, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of the voluntary, third sector, or charity sector and its financial culture.
  • Experience of supporting an organisation at a time of growth and transition.
