Job Summary:

Eggtooth is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our finances, enabling us to maximize our impact and deliver high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the Finance function, working closely with the Co-Director to source new business opportunities and develop robust financial procedures, controls, and systems.
  • Produce timely and accurate management accounts, cash flow, and other financial reports to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee and support the work of the Bookkeeper to ensure accurate financial records are maintained, all transactions are processed, and online banking, Xero account, and integrations are managed.
  • Prepare management accounts, cash flow, and other financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, with accurate commentary and analysis as required by the Co-Directors and Board of Directors.
  • Prepare the Annual Budget and financial forecasts in conjunction with Co-Directors, Board, and Senior Managers.
  • Payroll, HMRC, and Charity Commission reporting and payments, as well as filing appropriate information with regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor cash position and cash flow, ensuring adequate reserves to meet financial responsibilities.
  • Review current processes and develop and implement financial policies, controls, and systems to ensure compliance and diligent resource management.
  • Prepare year-end accounts to trial balance and liaise with Accountants to ensure accurate financial statements are produced.
  • Liaise with contract providers to ensure common understanding, align financial arrangements, and negotiate the best price.
  • Foster a culture of financial responsibility and value for money, developing systems of scrutiny to ensure the best value in all expenditures across the organisation.
  • Work with the Co-Director of Business Development to contribute financial information for funding applications and tenders as required and to support donor reporting and grant administration.
  • Record, maintain, and monitor multiple project budgets and income streams.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of working in a hands-on Finance Manager role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office (particularly Excel).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing financial systems, processes, and controls.
  • Part or fully qualified accountant/bookkeeper within ACA/ACCA, AAT, or QBE or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the voluntary, third sector, or charity sector and its financial culture.
  • Business acumen, sound financial accounting skills, and knowledge of relevant financial regulations, reporting standards, and legal requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office (particularly Excel) and Google Suite.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to enter data accurately and efficiently.
  • An ability to communicate complex financial information so that it is accessible and easily understood.
  • Ability to identify and implement systems advantageous to improving quality and efficiency.
