Position Overview:
The role of Lead Worker (Housing Coach) is pivotal in assisting individuals who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes. This position involves conducting assessments, providing coaching, and advocating for clients while connecting them to essential services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate support for the Winter Night Shelter, ensuring clients have pathways to sustainable housing solutions.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with service users, colleagues, and partner organizations.
- Empower clients by enhancing their skills and confidence in navigating housing options.
- Manage a caseload effectively, adhering to the Crisis Case Management Framework.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A strong commitment to ending homelessness.
- In-depth knowledge of housing access through various sectors including private rentals and local authorities.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by homeless individuals, including welfare, trauma, and social isolation.
- Experience in utilizing coaching and psychologically informed methods with those experiencing homelessness.
- Ability to work collaboratively and network effectively.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a changing environment.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to reflect on personal practice.
- Experience in voluntary or statutory sectors focused on marginalized communities.
