Position Overview
The role of the Lead Worker (Housing Coach) is pivotal in our efforts to assist those experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their homes. You will provide essential assessments, coaching, and advocacy, connecting individuals with vital services to facilitate their journey towards stable housing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized coaching and support to individuals, guiding them through their housing challenges.
- Facilitate access to the Winter Night Shelter, ensuring that participants have the resources and opportunities to resolve their housing crises sustainably.
- Manage a caseload effectively, adhering to the Crisis Case Management Framework to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues, partner organizations, and service users, fostering a supportive environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
- A strong commitment to ending homelessness and improving the lives of marginalized individuals.
- In-depth knowledge of housing access methods, including private rentals, local authorities, and housing associations.
- Understanding of the complex issues faced by homeless individuals, such as trauma, substance use, and social isolation.
- Experience in utilizing coaching and psychologically informed approaches to support individuals with lived experiences of homelessness.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and network effectively within the community.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to reflect on and improve personal practice.
- Previous experience in voluntary or statutory sectors focused on marginalized groups.
