Position: Quantity Surveyor

Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor at Network Plus Services, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Commercial Manager. Your primary focus will be on enhancing operational efficiencies, managing expenditures, and optimizing regional performance for our clientele. This position involves overseeing all financial dimensions of projects, ensuring compliance with commercial and contractual obligations, and striving to achieve targeted profit margins through astute commercial insights. You will also be responsible for identifying, documenting, and monitoring both risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Oversee and analyze project expenditures, including weekly profit and loss reporting.
  • Examine contract documentation and provide guidance on potential issues.
  • Monitor project progress and cash flow forecasts.
  • Generate and assess commercial forecasts, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVRs), and Project Finance Reports.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships, including forecasting, order placement, and negotiating terms.
  • Prepare and evaluate subcontract documents, inquiries, and quotations.
  • Facilitate subcontract orders, valuation agreements, invoicing, and final account settlements.
  • Administer the change control process, alongside risk and value management.
  • Track project modifications, variations, and notifications.
  • Evaluate and quantify variations and compensation events.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment requests to clients, along with final account agreements.
  • Participate in risk reviews, progress assessments, and commercial discussions on-site with clients.
  • Engage actively in tendering and pricing processes.
  • Assist the Credit Control team with cash recovery and forecasting.
  • Support the operational team in daily commercial and contractual matters.

Qualifications and Experience

A degree qualification (RICS accredited or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory. Experience in the Utilities sector is advantageous. You should possess a solid understanding of NEC contracts and demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and perform under tight deadlines. Exceptional communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a logical approach to problem-solving are essential.
