About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing expert care and support to patients with breast cancer and benign breast conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist nursing care and support to patients with breast cancer and benign breast conditions.
  • Work closely with consultants, radiographers, oncologists, and pathology staff to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for healthcare professionals, patients, and carers.
  • Contribute to the development of breast services within the trust, working collaboratively with healthcare colleagues.
  • Work across multiple sites, including Manchester Foundation Trust hospitals and the breast unit at Royal Oldham Hospital.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse with a first-level degree in a related subject.
  • Post-basic qualification in breast cancer or a relevant subject, or willingness to undertake.
  • Strong evidence of continual professional development.
  • Completed formal advanced communication skills training or prepared to work towards.
  • Recognised teaching qualification or prepared to work towards.
  • Principles and Practice of Breast Care Nursing undertaken or willingness to undertake.
  • Relevant post-registration experience at band 5 or above in breast or a closely related subject.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the breast cancer pathway.
  • Experience of multi-professional working in breast or a closely related specialty.
  • Able to demonstrate an interest in the breast specialty.
  • Understanding of Macmillan Cancer Support and its role across the UK.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member.

  • Evidence of ability to lead and influence change.
