About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing expert care and support to patients with breast cancer and benign breast problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist nursing knowledge and expertise in the management of patients with breast cancer and benign breast problems.
  • Work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team to provide expert advice and support for patients.
  • Develop and deliver programmes of specialist education and training to healthcare professionals, patients, and carers.
  • Collaborate with healthcare colleagues to develop and improve breast services.
  • Work across Manchester Foundation Trust hospitals and the breast unit at Royal Oldham Hospital.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse
  • First-level degree in a related subject or undertaking a degree pathway
  • Post-basic qualification in breast cancer or a relevant subject, or willingness to undertake
  • Strong evidence of continual professional development
  • Completed formal advanced communication skills training or prepared to work towards
  • Recognised teaching qualification or prepared to work towards
  • Principles and Practice of Breast Care Nursing undertaken or willingness to undertake
  • Relevant post-registration experience at Band 5 or above in breast or a closely related subject
  • Knowledge and awareness of the breast cancer pathway
  • Experience of multi-professional working in breast or a closely related specialty
  • Able to demonstrate an interest in the breast specialty
  • Understanding of Macmillan Cancer Support and its role across the UK
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member

  • Evidence of ability to lead and influence change
