Position Overview

As a Transformation Program Manager within the PMO, you will play a pivotal role in steering change initiatives. Your main objective will be to reduce resistance, enhance engagement, and achieve favorable results through proficient change management techniques and the adept application of both established and innovative change methodologies. You will report directly to the Head of PMO and oversee the comprehensive Change Portfolio for the UK Defence sector, collaborating closely with Sector Leader Sponsors and the Head of PMO.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the UK Sector Change Portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Oversee the delivery of individual business cases, ensuring projects and programs are executed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at senior leadership levels, ensuring effective communication across the organization.
  • Ensure that program members adhere to the Business Management System and functional competency management requirements, with appropriate personal objectives documented in the performance management system.
  • Address conflicts, including prioritization decisions, within the portfolio and collaborate across the organization.
  • Drive the integration of improvements within the project and program management function, in agreement with the Head of PMO and the Programme Excellence team.

This is a full-time role based at one of our main locations, offering hybrid working arrangements with travel to other sites as necessary.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven capability at the International Project Management Association Level A.
  • Extensive experience in leading businesses, projects, programs, portfolios, or P3 functions, with a track record of successfully delivering complex programs.
  • Experience in spearheading transformation change initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • MSP Practitioner certification.
  • MoP Practitioner certification is preferred.
