Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager is a key leadership role at NEXT, responsible for driving sales growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences on the sales floor. As a leader of the customer experience, this role requires a strong focus on sales growth, team development, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Sales Floor: Drive store results through the selling team, ensuring a memorable customer experience and achieving sales growth targets.
  • Assist the Store Manager: Collaborate with the Store Manager to achieve overall store goals, providing support and guidance to direct reports.
  • Develop and Execute Strategies: Develop and execute short and long-term strategies to drive top-line sales, improve customer satisfaction, and increase loyalty.
  • Lead and Develop Teams: Lead and develop leaders and associates in various roles and levels, including managers and associates, to deliver individual and team success.
  • Manage Competing Priorities: Manage competing priorities and business complexities in high-volume stores, ensuring operational excellence and delivering results.
  • Role Model and Coach: Role model, coach, and develop best-in-class selling behaviors, product knowledge, and customer service skills.
  • Accountable for Talent Life Cycle: Accountable for the talent life cycle of direct reports, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, development, performance management, terminations, and succession planning.
  • Lead Direct Reports: Lead direct reports to maintain merchandise presentation standards while selling, ensuring a visually appealing store environment.
Success Measures
  • Sales Comps (Likes): Achieve sales growth targets and improve sales comps.
  • Bra Comps (Likes): Drive bra sales growth and improve bra comps.
  • Shrink: Reduce shrink and maintain a secure store environment.
  • Conversion: Improve conversion rates and increase sales.
  • Return on Visit (ROV): Increase ROV and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Payroll: Manage payroll and maintain a lean and efficient team.
  • Associate Opinion Survey (AOS) Results: Improve AOS results and increase associate engagement.
  • Retention of Top Talent: Retain top talent and reduce turnover.
  • Loyalty: Increase customer loyalty and retention.
