As an Autism Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in empowering autistic adults to achieve their full potential. You will utilize your lived experience and understanding of neurodiversity to provide guidance, support, and encouragement.

Ideal Candidate Profile: Essential Requirements:
  • Personal lived experience of Autism / neurodiversity and a willingness to share your experiences in a meaningful way.
  • Excellent communication skills with autistic adults.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of positive mental well-being.
  • Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and patience.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively within an inclusive team environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond professionally in challenging situations.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Level 3 in health & social care or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with neurodivergent individuals and/or those with mental health challenges.
  • Familiarity with community resources and service user groups.
  • Experience in a community capacity role or peer support role.
  • Proven track record of providing effective support to autistic adults, positively impacting their lives and meeting their needs.
  • Experience in actively supporting individuals to set and achieve personal goals within a related social care or health setting (paid or unpaid).
