Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teaching and Learning Support Specialist to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a specialist in phonics intervention, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality phonics sessions to support the development of reading and writing skills in children aged 5-7 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver phonics intervention sessions to small groups of children
  • Work closely with the class teacher to identify areas of need and develop targeted support plans
  • Use a range of strategies to support children with reading and writing difficulties
  • Monitor and track progress of children receiving phonics intervention
  • Collaborate with other members of the school team to ensure consistency and continuity of support

Requirements:

  • Level 2 qualification or above in supporting children in learning (or other relevant qualifications)
  • Experience of working with children aged 5-7 years
  • Strong knowledge of phonics schemes, including Read Write Inc.
  • Ability to use a range of strategies to support children with reading and writing difficulties
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
