Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school catering for primary-aged children with special educational needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students, providing nurturing support and creating a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teachers in the classroom to enhance learning experiences
  • Providing individualized support to students with special educational needs
  • Assisting with lesson planning and preparation
  • Maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment
  • Communicating effectively with teachers, students, and parents

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 or above qualification in a relevant field
  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Recent experience working with children in KS1 or KS2
  • Knowledge of classroom roles and responsibilities
  • Recent experience supporting and assisting pupils with their learning

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • First Aid Certificate
  • Team Teach Certificate
  • Experience of administrative tasks
  • Experience of working with children with SEND
  • Experience of supporting children with challenging behavior
