Job Description:

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a Primary School setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with SEN requirements, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities and resources.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive learning environments, assisting with classroom activities and promoting positive behavior management strategies.
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching materials to suit the needs of each child.
  • Foster a supportive and nurturing relationship with students, offering emotional support and encouragement to build their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and external panels to ensure continuity of care and support for each child.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and any incidents, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with school policies.
  • Promote inclusivity and diversity within the school community, advocating for the needs of children with SEN and raising awareness among staff and peers.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children or adults with SEN requirements is essential, demonstrating empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in their well-being.
  • Experience within a Primary School setting is desirable but not essential; however, a willingness to learn and adapt to the school's ethos and practices is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support would be advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
